Zoom / Pinch Gestures - Better drag and zoom possibilities (like iPad)#219

We are using the Lampy in our livestreamstudio with more than 80 fixtures (led strips, moving heads, LED fresnells). Every stream-recording we need to select every fixture separate to adjust its output. On the Magic Sheet it’s now impossible to read al the fixture ID’s and we have to zoom in. It would be very helpful if drag and zoom should act like on a iPad.

can you elaborate? Do you mean Zooming / Scrolling with gestures?

Yes, now (in the Magic Sheet) you’ll have to zoom in and out with the scrollbar + and - on the right side. The touchscreen is a multitouch screen or isn’t it? So why not Zoom in and out just with your fingers? If you have that much fixtures on your Magic Sheet, it’s would be much faster to go to the fixture you want to see and zoom-in to see if it’s the right ID.

And yes, I agree that this would be a nice feature. It is really tricky to implement though; when you put both fingers on the screen you will never be 100% synchronous with both; this already triggers a click where the first finger lands - unfortunately this is not something we have under control ourselfes, as it is handled by the framework (Qt) that we use. We have put in requests to address this issues at a framework level with them, but until this issue is fixed we most likely will not be able to implement this.
I will however leave the feature request open of course, and will update this issue if anything changes.
