Enable/fix flash+fade out on scene/play-back fader buttons#313

M

Hi there,

Not sure if this would be a feature or just a bug fix.
What I would like to do is: “Always being able to use a fader flash buton (in flash-go-release) with a fade-out (off-time) effect”

What I encounter is the following: “Flash buttons can indeed be used with a fade-out (off-time) as long as the fader is set to “disabled”. With the fader enabled the set off-time will be ignored as soon as the fader is used/touched.

I am curious for your suggestions.

Mark.

Hi,

this is sort of a tricky one - when the fader is enabeled, the value is set to 100% when the flash button is pressed; when you release the button the fader value is immediately taken.

The “Off” time itself is the time any released playback will outfade from the intensity value it has.

You are basically after some sort of way to have the “fader value” fade back to whatever value is set by the fader. This would actually be a rather big new feature as it would touch many parts and would need a new concept for these kind of things internally.

So yes, indeed a feature and not a bug.

Hi Denis, thanks for your quick response.
I follow your explanation.

Another approach would be to include a specific fade/off-time for the fader (flash) button maybe? I like working with one-button flashes in busking situations not without fade for LED fixtures. And it is kind of a bummer that this currently does not work using a fader in parallel (e.g. fader set to 30%, flash button makes it 100% and fades back to fader value of 30%)

Although, enough workarounds at this point, using a virtual executer or use another playback for it and disable the fader.

In any case, thanks!

Something like this could be nice actually.

This is an issue many other consoles are facing, too unfortunately. I can not give an ETA of when we would be doing this at the moment; whenever we get to the planning of the release we’ll revisit this post and plan according to the time we have available for development and upvotes.
