Dimmer problem#321

P

“I’ve often had the problem that during the show, the dimmers of some moving heads suddenly stop working, even though the value in the DMX output doesn’t change. The lights only work again when selected in highlight mode.

After a restart, the same error occurs, and so far, the problem has only been resolved by creating a new file.”

Is the number in the top left corner of affected fixtures red?
I would guess that there is a group fader active for these fixtures.

Can you send me the show file to take a look at, so we can reproduce the problem?

The showfile would still be helpful, but I have a thought:

Could it be you created a Group Master on an MFF at some point and then moved fader pages afterwards?

Eg. if it was created on Group Mode or Page 2, then you moved playback page 2 to page 4 or so?

Unfortunately MFFs are stored on the normal playback pages, which means if you move a playback page at the moment the MFFs are also moved.

“No, there were no MFF faders active. Even with some new files, it doesn’t work, and on the display, you can see the dimmer percentages go up, but not in the DMX output. Both the master dimmer and the others were active. I’ll see if I can find another file with the same error.”

Were do you see the Percentages go up?
In the Fixture Item (Fixture View / MagicSheet)? Or in the Value Table / Encoders?

Is your programmer in blind mode? (button with the eye symbol top left)

I think the show file would be best for us to check and see whats going on.

“You can see the dimmer percentage in the encoders and in the magic sheet. Also, I am not in blind mode. I’ll likely send the file in the evening.”

You should indeed update to 2.1.1; however I’d still love to take a look at the show file.
