CMOS battery status in Display#336

We keep hearing in the forum about Lampys that stop working because the CMOS battery on the mainboard fails.
The status of the battery can be queried under Linux.

cat /proc/driver/rtc | grep batt_status

The main display might show a small symbol ‘CMOS battery status: OK’ or ‘CMOS battery status: critical’ and you could change the battery in good time before unpleasant surprises occur.

batt_status unfortunately is not representative - it still shows “okay” for me without the battery removed before boot.
