gateway in network configuration#348

K

In the Network tab, I can’t quite understand the gateway setting. Does it refer to the default gateway, or to the Art-Net/sACN endpoint? When using a manual IP, if the gateway isn’t set, the console doesn’t output any Art-Net. These should be two separate settings: one for the default gateway and another for the Art-Net/sACN endpoint. Ideally, the IP address for the Art-Net/sACN endpoint should be configurable within the Art-Net/sACN tab, with an option to broadcast to the entire network instead of targeting a single IP.

This is the default gateway for the network card, which is also needed for internet access and has nothing to do with ArtNet / sACN protocol specifics.

The gateway address here is needed for ArtNet / sACN output due to linux subsystem requirements.

As for ArtNet, we always broadcast. sACN is always multicast.
