When I install fixtures such as moving heads, it often makes sense to change e.g. the PAN/TILT values required for the specific location in the Show Library and save them.
Unfortunately, I only see the actual change after I have saved the settings and confirmed that they have been applied.
Is it possible to set the values in real time in the fixture settings of the show library to make this process easier?

Hi Ernst, this is not possible unfortunately as making changes appear “live” would mean that we need to save the library and update everything that uses them.
It’s also not really how the ranges are intended to be used - the values in the library meant more as a general description of a certain fixture, rather than to limit moves or something.
What you could do is make sure that the range spans the full value of the channel, then select the fixture in the values view, click on the magic wand to show raw dmx values, move to your “limits” and note the values down. Then you can use those as your values in the range of the function.
Ultimately, I think what you are after would be a “limit pan / tilt” column or so in the patch, which is already a feature request: https://showtec-lampy.nolt.io/183

Thanks Denis, understood :-) Good tip…
