During the update to version 2.14, the screen went black and wouldn’t open; it remained in a standby mode for over 30 minutes. I turned the controller off and on again.

I also got a balck screen. Probably during the installation for the 2.1.4 (I was not looking at the screen when black). There is just the small dash or underscore in the top left of the screen. LEDs from the MFF are light up as per the last show I was creating before starting the update procedure.
After waiting more than 10 minutes I did a force restart of the console and I see the 2.1.4 installed. Show file saved correctly and update from 2.1.3 to 2.1.4. Logs attached if may help.
There was an issue with the update process and how it managed system resources during update installation. 2.1.4 does some things differently to prevent this, but updating from an older version to 2.1.4 does not offer the same coverage

I replaced the BIOS battery and memory with 8 gigabytes, but it still doesn’t work.

While it is possible to restore the console, it is not exactly straight forward.
You’ll need a Ubuntu 24.04 on a seperate USB Sticck and you will need to issue some terminal / command line commands.
