RGBWA+UV color output does not match#398

T

RGBWA+UV output colors on the fixture are not consistent with the selected values. Both the Color Picker and the Quick Faders do not match the fixture’s actual color output (e.g. Red 100% + Green 100% does not produce Yellow on the fixture).

Fixture details.
Manufacturer: Anzhee
Type: Procbet Par LED 18-15 RGBWA+UV (10 Ch)

Note: The “Color Mode” encoder is too sensitive.

You can calibrate this fixture to match the outputs better:

  • Go into the library tab in the menu
  • Select the fixture in show lbrary
  • Open the editor dialog.
  • On the module containing the RGBWA+UV channels there should be a button for color mixing.
  • In the subsequent dialog, you can change the emitter details of this fixture. Probably the most relevant aspect are the relative led intensities, that you will need to adjust.

Note: Nice feedback on the color mode encoder, better in a separate post (i will make one)

I assume this refers to the “Edit Color Mixing System” window, with the parameters “CIE x”, “CIE y” and “Lum Flux”. In this case, the exact colorimetric parameters of the fixture are required. I’m currently running some tests, but I still haven’t been able to figure out how to derive these parameters accurately.

You can relatively easily measure these values using a color meter like a sekonic c-700 or similar devices.

Alternatively you can ask the manufacturer of the fixture for these values, altough chances are high you will not receive them from lower end manufacturers / resellers.

Sometimes the UV channel of a Fixture is a true ultraviolet emmiter and thus does not really directly produce visible light.

In that case there is an easy workaround to fix the color mixing of the lampy: Remove color information of the UV channel.
You might have to change the channel “function” as well.

Then the UV channel does not take part in color mixing anymore.

(Many “UV” channels are actually a very deep blue, thats why they are included by default)

Ok, everything is clear now.

For the amber channel, I needed to correctly adjust its chromaticity parameters, while the UV channel must be excluded from the color mixing system. That was the reason why UV was being shown instead of Blue at 100% in the mixer.

Thank you all for the support.
